Forms of Postboxes.

After looking deeply into the letters that I bought back from New York, I wanted to express the idea of time capsules and how things can be preserved over time to inform the future of our stories. In order to incorporate this into my final outcome, I want to be able to create an interactive piece in which the audience can be a part of the composition. I had the idea of using a post box within my work so that they can post their own messages or notes as if the piece was their own personal time capsule. I need to look into different forms of post boxes and which I would prefer to have as a part of my final outcome.

Typical American Postbox - I really like the form of this post box and the practicality of it.

American Neighbourhood Post box - I don't really like the shape and size of this post box and I don't think that it would work well with my current ideas.

Household Post box - As this is a postbox that most people could relate to due to the amount of them that can be found, I think it would fit my piece well both aesthetically and conceptually.

Typical English Post box - I like the format of this piece and the scale as it is around the scale of the piece that I would like to create in my exam.
After looking at these different types of postboxes, I want to use a shape that is portable (due to transport of time capsule and practicality in my exam), which is why I think that I am going to use the simple house hold postbox shape and have something behind my actual final outcome to store any letters or postcards that are posted through.
